I’m attending JAOO in Sydney. Today’s most interesting presentation was by Johnny Chung Lee, a Internet Celebrity(tm) with some of the most viewed videos in youtube and a researcher in human-computer interaction.
Johnny gave a brilliant talk and stressed the fact that although we have better graphics nowadays we still suck at how to interact with the computer/console. His research projects use tools like the Wiimote and projectors to create new and inexpensive ways to interact with the software.
The problems and solutions he described are pretty much the same behind my Everything I know about Domain-Specific Languages I’ve learned from Video Games article. I can see yet another similarity between hacking a Wiimote to create whiteboards and hacking a language to create Internal DSLs ![]()
