Brazilian Tour 2008

Next October I’ll be in Brazil for about 15 days. First I will give a talk at FalandoEmAgile 2008, the flagship Brazilian conference on Agile methodologies. This year we have a keynote with David Anderson, a bunch of ThoughtWorkers and a lot of local speakers. I’ll be delivering the locknote on something like “why and how to avoid creating an agile software factory”.

Something that made me very happy about this conference is that my ex-employer, Globo.com -the Internet arm of one of the Top 5 Media conglomerates in the world-, is a sponsor. We started introducing Agile methods at Globo.com in 2006 and, after various successful projects, the company is now reference in productivity and Agile methods in Latin America.

After that I’ll deliver two or three workshops around the country on Domain-Driven Design. The topic is hot and this time I expect to try some different approaches to share the concepts. The workshop will be held in Portuguese so if you’re interested in it check my Portuguese blog.

One event I’m not sure if I’ll be able to attend is Rails Summit Latin America. Now that’s a very interesting conference but the problem is that I’ll arrive in Brazil at its first day. I’m not sure how well my jetlagged body reacts to 40 minutes presentations :)
